I feel extremely honoured to have been given the following awards over the last few years. The first being for ‘Survivor of the Year’ in 2012 from ‘Womensaid Federation of England‘ in Association with Avon and Marie Claire Magazine.
Every year to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a London based organisation, Standing Together against Domestic Violence, run The Blooming Strong Campaign. I was so proud to be nominated and awarded in this campaign.
And finally, I was totally overwhelmed to be nominated and short listed for The Emma Humphries Memorial Prize in 2015. This was awarded for my work raising awareness of violence against women and children.
I am very proud of all three of these awards. Working in the filed of domestic abuse can sometimes be soul destroying, distressing and frustrating. To be chosen to receive these awards, reminds me that I am doing a good job and more importantly, I am helping women to live free from fear.
